Banana Sushi has always been in my list of things to make for my daughter and with my daughter. She has become a curious soul and always ready to help. This banana sushi recipe is such a perfect snack recipe for kids to cook and eat. We both enjoyed the process of making and eating these simple and still healthy treats.

Banana sushi is the simplest snack ever. I agree you could just eat a banana, but believe me the pleasure it gives to see the child enjoying making these and devouring, is something else! This is such a flexible recipe. You can make it even healthier by just following the steps below.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate broken*
  • 2 Bananas, sliced
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup colorful sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave or on a double boiler**. I microwaved for 30 seconds to melt the chocolate.

  2. Dip banana slices in chocolate and then in the topping. Repeat for all banana slices.

  3. Keep in the fridge for 5 minutes and put them on a skewer if you like or enjoy as it is.

Recipe Notes

*For Broken dark chocolate, I break small pieces from the chocolate slab and pulse them in the grinder a few times to get coarse mixture which becomes liquid in less time.

**To melt chocolate on a double boiler, keep a pot with water to heat on the stove. On top of the pot, keep the bowl with the chocolate. Let the steam from the pot underneath melt the chocolate. Keep whisking till it's done. This is a full proof method. The water should not touch the chocolate and the bowl with the chocolate.
