I have paired broccoli with cheese here which gives the parathas the wow factor. It’s soft and gooey because of the cheese and no one will ever know it’s made with broccoli. This broccoli paratha does a good job of hiding the broccoli. Your little one’s won’t be able to tell the difference at all. A very good recipe for toddlers who should be eating a lot of broccoli.

Broccoli Paratha
Hearty healthy parathas stuffed with broccoli and cheese.
Ingredients
For Dough
- 1 1/4 cups Whole Wheat Flour
- Salt to taste
For Broccoli & Cheese Filling
- 1 1/2 cups Broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup Cheese grated
- 1 tbsp Coriander chopped
- 1 tbsp Garlic and Green Chili Paste
- 1/2 tsp Kitchen King masala or garam masala optional
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Oil for Shallow Frying
Instructions
For Dough

Knead a medium soft dough with aata (whole wheat flour), salt and water as required.

Cover and keep the dough aside for 10 minutes.

Divide the dough into small portions. Should make 6 small rounds.
For Broccoli & Cheese Filling

Steam broccoli for 3 to 5 minutes in salted boiling water.

Take broccoli out and drain the water.

Finely chop broccoli or use a food processor to coarsely grind broccoli.

Take the ground broccoli out on a muslin cloth.

Fold the muslin cloth around the broccoli and squeeze excess water out. You can even collect the broccoli water to knead the dough later.

Mix together squeezed and dry broccoli, cheese, coriander, garlic and green chili paste, salt, pepper and kitchen king masala (if using).

Roll a round dough into a small round first. Put 2 tbsp of the broccoli filling in the center.

Enclose the broccoli filling from all sides and pinch in the center.

Now roll the paratha lightly using enough flour into 1/4 inch thickness.

Cook the paratha on a hot griddle and flip it once one side is cooked.

Now wait for the other side to cook, then drizzle some oil on the sides and the parathas will instantly fluff up.

Flip once again and apply oil on both sides properly.

Cook till golden brown. Similarly cook all the parathas and serve hot.

Broccoli paratha is in my todo list for a long time but never thought of adding cheese in it, sounds so cheesy paratha loaded with the goodness of healthy broccoli. Need to try it out soon. Great share 🙂
