Cheese biscuit is crumbly, soft, crunchy, salty and one of the best savory biscuits I have made so far. Made with cheddar cheese, these buttery savory biscuits are to die for. Enjoy them as tea time snack, evening snack or even for those mid hunger pangs. Kids favorite snack.
These healthy, crunchy, crumbly savory cheese biscuits are made with just a few ingredients. This cheese biscuit recipe has no baking soda or baking powder. Almost like short bread cookies but only savory. These savory snacks can replace a lot of junk which your kid may consume during snack time.
Cheddar cheese biscuits are addictive and didn’t last too long in my house. My daughter loved them and it was such a relief because not only are they healthy, they are absolutely yummy too. I shaped them into dog bones just to give them a nice look. These cheese biscuits came in very handy as a to go snack as well.
With this recipe for cheese biscuit, I am sure you will not say no to your little one’s. These are the best savory snack ever. Make these in big batches as they can be kept out for almost a month, if it lasts that long.

Easy cheese biscuit made with cheddar cheese and a handful of ingredients.
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 3/4 cup Cheddar Cheese Mild or as per your preference, grated
- 1/2 cup Butter or 100 gms, sliced
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Sauce
- 1-2 tbsp buttermilk or 1 tbsp curd
I have used a food processor for this but you can everything with hand and bring it together into a soft dough.
In the food processor, add the flour, cheese, butter, salt, oregano and blitz until mixed.
Now add the wet ingredients namely mustard sauce and buttermilk (or curd) and blitz again until you get clumps.
Switch the machine off as soon as you see clumps.
Take the clumps out onto a flat surface and knead into a soft dough. Don’t over knead it. Just enough to bring everything together.
At this point you can freeze the dough for half an hour.
Before baking the cookies, take the dough out. Preheat the oven at 180 degree C for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into two portions and roll individual portions out to 1/4 inch thickness.
Use a cookie cutter to shape the biscuits the way you want. I have used a dog bone cutter.
Cut the biscuit, arrange on a baking tray and bake them in a pre heated oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until the edges are slightly brown.
Bake the rest of the biscuits in batches and store them in an air tight container once cold.
