This is a chocolate pancake with eggs recipe. Although, we love both the egg and eggless versions of the pancake, but this recipe in particular is a lot more fluffy, soft and tasty! If you are looking for a pancake recipe without egg, we have two right here on our website, Eggless Banana Pancakes and Basic Eggless Pancake Recipe. We also have a Baked Pancake Recipe.

We love nutella pancakes in our house. You can stuff nutella in any pancake mix. First pour a spoonful of the batter on the pan. Then put a table spoon of nutella on top and pour more pancake mix over nutella to cover it completely. Flip the pancakes and cook from both sides. Enjoy your nutella pancakes.

Best Ever Chocolate Pancake Recipe
A very easy Chocolate Pancake recipe with egg and cocoa powder.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 3 tbsp Brown Sugar or Jaggery Powder or 2 tbsp Refined Sugar
- 1 Egg (Look at notes to replace the egg to make it eggless)
- 1 cup Milk
- Oil or Butter for making the pancakes
Instructions
-
Mix together the dry ingredients : flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa powder. Keep aside.
-
Now in a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, vanilla essence, egg and milk.
-
Mix well and slowly add the dry ingredients in two batches. Use more milk if required to get a pancake consistency ( not too runny and thick enough to hold it’s shape on the pan). Look at the video for consistency.
-
If you are making heart shaped pancakes, then take a squeezy bottle (we use them for sauces) and fill it with the pancake mix.
-
Use a teaspoon of oil or butter on a hot non stick pan and wipe it with a paper napkin. This is just to coat the pan with oil.
-
Lightly squeeze the squeezy bottle to make heart shapes directly on the pan. You can also directly pour big spoonful of pancake mix directly on the pan for a regular circular pancake.
-
Flip once it’s sufficiently browned on one side. Let it cook for a couple of minutes more on the other side.
-
Serve warm with strawberries and a nice sprinkling of icing sugar or a good drizzle of maple syrup or honey.
Recipe Notes
To make the same recipe eggless, you can increase the quantity of baking powder to a total of 1 table spoon and increase the quantity of milk by about 1/4 cup to get the same consistency for pancakes.
