This sweet, spicy, tangy, golden honey mustard salad dressing is almost a universal dressing which is good with any salad combination. You will always have ingredients in the pantry to make this classic golden dressing for your salad.
This gets ready within minutes and in fact you can make a big batch and store it for a few days in the fridge. This is like the most basic salad vinaigrette which goes well with bitter leaves, or sweet pears, or crunchy vegetables. I particularly like this dressing on grilled chicken and mixed salad leaves. But here I have a vegetarian salad with toasted bread and crunchy vegetables like carrot, cucumber etc.
Make this golden sauce and use it as a dressing, or a marinade or to make a quick sauce for the chicken, or to simply dip your fingers in it :-). It has many uses and it’s a classic recipe. You can add or replace any ingredient to suit your liking. This one here is without mayo but a classic recipe is made with mayo to bring it all together.
How do you make homemade honey mustard sauce?
A honey mustard sauce is a classic sauce made with Mayo, Mustard, Honey, Vinegar, Salt and Cayenne Pepper. It perfectly balances the sweet from the honey, the spicy from the pepper, tangy from the vinegar, creamy from the mayo with a nice pungent after taste with the mustard. Golden Honey Mustard Salad Dressing Recipe
This sweet, spicy, tangy, golden honey mustard salad dressing is almost a universal dressing which is good with any salad combination.
- 1/4 cup Pear cubed
- 1/2 cup Mixed bell peppers diced
- 1/4 cup Purple cabbage diced
- 1/4 cup Carrots cubed
- 1/4 cup Corn boiled
- 1/2 cup Toasted bread torn into pieces (optional)
- 1/2 cup Lettuce
For Mustard & Honey Dressing
- 2-3 cloves Garlic
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Mustard sauce or kasundi
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tsp Red chili flakes
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
Blend together the dressing ingredients. Adjust seasoning if required. Add little water if the dressing is too thick.
Mix together pear, peppers, carrot, purple cabbage, corn, lettuce and toasted bread.
Pour the dressing over the salad and serve cold.
