Nimbu pani is the most popular summer drink in India. It’s the easiest and delicious way to stay cool this summer. This is the best Indian lemonade recipe ever. Also called as Shikanji or shikanjvi in India.
I always remember how we would come home from school on a hot day and mom would keep a jug of homemade nimbu pani or Indian Lemonade ready for us to cool down. There is nothing like a fresh squeezed lemonade to beat the summer heat.
This nimbu pani or Indian lemonade recipe is made without refined sugar. I have added jaggery to sweeten this Nimbu Pani. Makes this even healthier and gives it a very distinct taste. Jaggery is very good for the body. It cools the system and flushes out toxins from the liver. It is also a great source of antioxidants. Garnish with some fresh mint and lemon wedges and sip away through the day!

Nimbu Pani (Indian Lemonade) With Jaggery
A healthy jaggery based lemonade which has a unique taste and lots of health benefits.
- 1 cup Jaggery Water*
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- Few Mint Leaves
- Lemon Slices for Garnish
For the Jaggery water, soak 1/4 cup of jaggery powder or chopped jaggery in 1 cup water.
Once the jaggery has dissolved, stir well and sieve the liquid.
In a tall glass, add some ice cubes.
Now add some mint leaves, lemon juice and pour the prepared jaggery water.
Garnish with lemon slices or a spiral lemon like I did and as shown in the video.
