Popsicles are a colorful, tasty and healthy way to stay cool this summer! When it’s hot outside, nothing can beat an easy, all natural homemade icy cold Fruit Popsicle. These are fun for kids and the entire family.
Popsicles are such cool summer treat that the entire family can enjoy. Kids love these and moms love it even more because its like a healthy ice cream with an entire serving of fruits in each popsicle. Home made popsicle recipe is really easy to make and is a refreshing treat throughout the year.
Fun Fact: Popsicles are also called ice pops or ice lolly in some parts of the world. And did you know that Popsicles were first invented by a 11 year old kid? My 4 year old daughter also loves helping me make these healthy cool summer treats. I feel this is a great way to spend time with kids and educate them about healthy food.
A popsicle is essentially a water or ice based ice cream. So we need a water based flavor. I have used Lemonade but you can also use coconut water, orange juice, cranberry juice, apple juice. Have a look at Lemonade in 5 interesting flavor twists. Also look at our Popular Summer Drinks.
I am using an assortment of fruits like strawberry, kiwi, black grapes, and muskmelon for these frozen delights. But you can use any fruit of your choice. How do you make a Popsicle?
Freeze water based drink or juice in popsicle molds. Insert a popsicle stick and freeze for 6 to 8 hours or overnight. Take the popsicle out of the mold and enjoy these frozen delights.
How do I get my Popsicle out of the mold?
The easiest way to unmold a popsicle or to take it out of the mold is to dip it in warm water or room temperature water for 10 to 15 seconds or until the popsciles have loosened. Take water in a glass or a tumbler tall enough to cover the entire popsicle mold.
How long does it take for an ice pop to freeze?
Anywhere between 6 to 8 hours. I find it easier to just freeze popsicles or ice pops over night.
Healthy, colorful fruit Popsicle made with an assortment of fruits and lemonade.
- 1 cup Assorted Fruits (Kiwi, Muskmelon, Grapes, Strawberry) cut into small chunks
- 1 1/2 cups Lemonade (Or Any Fruit Juice or Water Based Juice)
Put assorted fruit chunks in the Popsicle molds.
Pour lemonade in each Popsicle Mold and insert the stick.
Refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours or overnight.
