This restaurant style veg kadai recipe is the quickest 15 minute recipe you will find. It’s perfect for those busy days when you are tired and just want to get something on the table in 30 minutes. All you have to do is to make the basic restaurant style curry base ahead of time. The gravy base will take 30 minutes. I often steam the vegetables in the morning while my breakfast is being made for making it even easier for dinner. Tips & Tricks
-Steam the vegetables instead of boiling them. This will help retain nutrients.
-Retain the crunch in the vegetables to give your dish a nice texture.
-You can control the spice factor in this preparation. I don’t order veg kadai when we eat out mostly because it’s spicier than other veg preparations.

Restaurant Style Veg Kadai
Easy 15 minute restaurant style veg kadai recipe which is spicy, flavorful and full of nutrition.
- 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 2 Red chilies
- 1 Onion small, cubed or sliced
- 2-3 Garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 cup Mixed Peppers
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala powder
- 3/4 cup Mix vegetables (Peas, broccoli carrot) steamed
- 1 cup Gravy Base
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
- 1 tsp Kasoori Methi
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Green chilies and coriander for garnish
Dry roast coriander and red chilies until they are fragrant. Blend into a paste with onion and garlic. Keep aside.
In a pan, heat oil and add bell peppers. Fry them for a minute. Now add the blended paste and saute for a couple of minutes.
Add turmeric powder, garam masala and the gravy base. Fry for a minute.
Add steamed mix vegetables and season with salt, black pepper, kasoori methi, lemon juice and mix well.
Garnish with green chilies, coriander and serve hot with Chapati, Tandoori Roti or Naan.
