Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan

Roasted broccoli is so easy to make and healthy too. 15 minute snack or a side dish, this roasted broccoli and cheese, will make you drool. Sprinkled with Parmesan cheese to give it that extra edge in taste and deliciousness.

Who says broccoli is boring! Broccoli can be fun and interesting. Try this oven roasted broccoli which is not only easy to make, but also very quick. Sprinkle or coat the broccoli with some seasoning and olive oil, roast it in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes and you have your roasted broccoli.

I also love a nicely sauteed garlic broccoli but this roasted broccoli with garlic is so much better. Broccoli has Vitamin K, C, folate, potassium and fiber. It’s a super food rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C which helps build collagen and protects body from damaging free radicals.

1 cup of broccoli with 1/2 tbsp of Olive oil has some where around 90 calories.

How long does it take to roast broccoli at 400?

It should ideally take somewhere around 15 to 20 minutes for broccoli to roast at 400 degree. If you blanch the broccoli then it may take a bit less time.

Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan is a quick and easy snack made with broccoli and just a few ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Broccoli florets
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Olive oil or regular oil
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  1. Put broccoli florets in boiling hot water to blanch. Let the broccoli sit in hot water for at least a couple of minutes.
  2. Immediately transfer broccoli into a pot of ice bath. Broccoli will retain it’s color and look more vibrant.
  3. Now drain and pat dry.
  4. Season the broccoli with salt, black pepper, chopped garlic, olive oil and oregano. Mix well.
  5. Now place the mixed broccoli in an oven tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200 degree C for 10 to 15 minutes or until crisp and brown from the edges.

  6. Take the roasted broccoli out and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake for another 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
  8. Serve warm as a snack or a side dish.
