The Best Fudgy Brownie Recipe | Whole Wheat Easy Brownies Recipe

The best, fudgiest, gooey and easy brownies recipe ever. These fudgy brownies are made with whole wheat and it’s melt in the mouth delicious!

I absolutely love brownies, especially with some sizzling hot chocolate sauce and cold vanilla ice cream. I could have this combination of brownies and ice cream, any time of the day. But, never have I ever made brownies at home. My bakes come out nice, if I may say so myself, but I never attempted to make a brownie yet. I just don’t know why!

I couldn’t hold myself, when I saw a beautiful brownie recipe which a very talented blogger friend, Lizet, had made. She is such a talented home chef! I absolutely adore her bakes. You must check her brownies here. Mine is totally inspired by her recipe with just a few ingredient tweaks.

I like brownies which are fudgy and not cakey. A fudgy, chocolaty and gooey brownie is enough to transport you to chocolate heaven. Having made these brownies at home, I realized it’s so easy to make and indulge in chocolaty goodness! The only drawback is that you tend to almost always over indulge! But hey, who’s complaining right?

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/3 cup Cocoa powder
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1 cup Sugar (Fine) or Castor Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil or Peanut Oil
  • 1/3 cup Walnuts
  • 2 tbsp Choco chips

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder. Set aside.

  2. In another bowl, add oil and sugar. Mix through using either an electric whip or manually until mixed through.

  3. Now add, egg, one at a time and mix.

  4. Now add vanilla essence and the dry flour mixture in two batches. Mix well with a spatula, in one direction making an eight every time. Do not over mix.

  5. Coat walnuts and choco chips with 1 tsp flour. This will prevent them from settling down in the brownies. Add these to the batter.

  6. Pour the batter in a greased and lined pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree C for 15 to 18 minutes. Baking time will depend on the thickness of your brownies. Check by inserting a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, then the brownies are done.

  1. That’s totally my way of indulgence too. A warm brownie, topped with gooey chocolate sauce and a melting scoop of ice-cream. I simply want to grab a few brownies off the screen right away.
