Watermelon Lemonade With Basil

Fresh and icy homemade watermelon lemonade recipe, with watermelon and basil twist, is the best drink ever this summer. Humble nimbu pani given a makeover with fresh watermelon and sweet fragrant basil.

I love making lemonade or nimbu pani in the summer. These are not only great thirst quenchers, but also very easy to whip up. All you need is some simple syrup or jaggery water ready in your fridge. Here’s a very refreshing watermelon lemonade with a fragrant and sweet basil combination. Try this very unique twist to lemonade with watermelon and basil fusion. Watermelon is a summer fruit and everyone loves having watermelon in various forms. The Best Watermelon Lemonade With Basil

A healthy, refreshing, fresh watermelon lemonade made with real lemons, watermelon and fragrant basil.

  • 1/4 cup Sugar Syrup* (or 2 tbsp fine sugar)
  • 1 cup Watermelon coarsely chopped
  • Few Basil Leaves
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Black Salt
  • Heart shaped watermelon slices Basil leaves for Garnish


  1. Blend together watermelon,basil, lemon juice and black salt in a blender.

  2. Sieve and keep the juice aside.
  3. In a jar or a glass, put some ice, pour sugar syrup (or fine sugar), lemon juice, basil leaves and watermelon slices.
  4. Pour the watermelon and basil juice on top and serve chilled.

Recipe Notes

For Simple Sugar Syrup*

  1. Heat together water and sugar, in equal quantities.
  2. Keep stirring in between till sugar dissolves. Take it off the heat as soon as the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Sieve the mixture to get rid of impurities. Let the syrup cool before using.
