Easy, Fragrant and soft Gujarati Methi thepla recipe, served with paneer bhurji make for a perfect and simple meal for the kids.
Make a paste of garlic and green chilies. Use little water if needed.
Mix together Flour, salt, turmeric powder, white sesame seeds.
Now add rest of the ingredients, garlic and green chili paste, curd, oil and chopped methi leaves.
Knead a tight dough with water and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Now roll out thin roti which is not more than 6 inches in diameter.
Place the rolled out roti on a hot tawa (griddle). Let it cook on high heat till you see small puffed pockets.
Flip and let the other side cook completely. Apply oil on one side and flip again and apply oil. Flip only once now and immediately take the thepla out.
Similarly finish cooking all theplas and cover them with a muslin cloth till you consume. This will keep them soft and supple.
